What is Shooting Panel Wireline?
The Shooting Panel Wireline is one of the important devices used to control perforation operations. Also known as the perforation capture line or perforation control system, it is the core ground control unit in the perforation operation of oil and gas wells. It is an "intelligent bridge" connecting the downhole perforator (perforating gun) and the surface operators.
The Core Functions Are:
◆ Power supply: Provide high-precision and high-stability DC power supply required for the detonation of downhole perforators.
◆ Control: Precisely control whether the current is delivered or not to ensure that the perforator is safely detonated at the specified depth and time.
◆ Monitoring: Real-time monitoring of key parameters such as resistance, voltage and current of the entire perforation circuit (ground cables, cable cores, underground instruments) to ensure operational safety.
◆ Communication: In coordination with depth systems, CCL etc., depth positioning is achieved to ensure perforation at the optimal position in the oil reservoir.
◆ Safety Interlock: Equipped with multiple hardware and software safety measures to prevent misoperation and accidental explosion.
In short, the operator can "see" the status of the downhole perforating gun on the perforating panel's display and, by pressing its controls, issue the "fire" command to complete the perforating job.

The Application of Shooting Panel Wireline
The Shooting Panel Wireline is an indispensable ground equipment for completing perforation operations and is widely used in:
◆ Wireline Casing Perforation: This is the most classic application. The perforating gun is lowered into the well via a cable. The panel works in conjunction with the magnetic locator (CCL) to determine the depth by measuring the casing coupling and perforate at the precise oil layer position.
◆ Wireline Through-Tubing Perforation: For recompletion or reperforation of producing wells, the gun must pass through the existing production tubing using a smaller-diameter perforator, with the panel still handling depth control and detonation.
◆ Drill-Pipe/Tubing-Conveyed Perforating: In high-pressure, horizontal, or highly deviated wells, the perforating gun string is run to depth on the end of the drill pipe or tubing.
◆ The function of the panels's role changes to:
① performing a surface check of the perforating gun/bridge plug circuit for continuity and resistance before running in hole;
② while detonation is triggered by bar-drop or pressure increase rather than by the panel, the panel still monitors the string's circuit resistance in real time to detect any damage during the run, acting as a "guardian.
◆Multistage Perforating: Working with advanced downhole switching tools, the panel can sequentially fire multiple perforated intervals on a single run, dramatically increasing operational efficiency, especially for the long horizontal sections in unconventional reservoirs (shale gas, tight oil) that require multistage hydraulic fracturing.
Conclusion of Shooting Panel Wireline
The Shooting Panel Wireline is an indispensable core control device in the well completion and stimulation operations of oil and gas fields. Its application always revolves around the requirements of safe, precise and efficient downhole perforation. Although it does not go directly underground, with its precise design and strict control, it ensures that underground operations worth millions can be carried out without any mistakes. It is a key surface equipment with high technical content and significant responsibility in the petroleum industry.
